This approach returns posting dates recorded by the employer's own system rather than an aggregator's “new” badge. All figures below were collected on 22 September 2026.
The four sources
- Hacker News — the thread “Ask HN: Who is hiring? (September 2026)” is id 49522897. The Algolia API returns all 400 comments: 167 engineering posts, 18 mentioning visa or relocation, 6 worldwide-remote. It is the best source for “posted this month”, because every entry is dated and written by the employer.
- Greenhouse — each company's public endpoint returns first_published, updated_at and location. Filter on first_published to get the real posting date.
- Ashby — the posting-api endpoint returns publishedAt, isRemote and location. publishedAt is the original publication date, so some listings have been open since 2024.
- WeWorkRemotely — per-category RSS with region and pubDate tags. Arbeitnow offers a public paged JSON API with created_at, remote and tags.
What this sweep returned
- 113 employer boards (Greenhouse and Ashby) produced 253 senior engineering roles; 201 had a first_published date in September 2026.
- 58 roles mention visa or relocation in the description — including companies stating they do not sponsor.
- Notable rows: Grafana Labs opened a Senior Backend Engineer (Databases/Analytics) on 22/09 for remote in Germany, Ireland, Spain, Sweden and the UK; Celonis opened in Munich on 22/09; Elastic opened 9 Principal roles across Europe and Canada on 21/09; GitLab has a Staff Backend Engineer EMEA for Poland and the UK.
Three things to watch when scraping
- Always read the original publication date, never the update date.
- Check the location field in the data: one role is often opened as several country-specific listings.
- Remote-first companies usually split roles by country of legal entity, so their “remote” is remote inside that country, not worldwide.
The resulting lists are in Remote jobs open to every country and Visa-sponsored and relocation roles.
